Halloween has just past — but many people are scared of the best stocks. I have to admit the best stocks right now are high-flying tech stocks that burned us in 2008. Look, I would rather not buy Amazon.com (AMZN) because I feel the stock is volatile.
But AMZN’s numbers are excellent — and the stock hit a new 52-week high today in the face of a stiff correction. If we want to have the best portfolio we have to own the best stocks — even if we don’t know what’s coming around the corner.
The bank and retail stocks that jumped in early 2009 have now cooled, so those aren’t great places to invest. To be honest with you, the stocks that led us to great gains at the end of 2007 are the same ones leading the stock market today.
Don’t be scared of the hot stocks because you may have lost money here in the past — the trend is your friend and the trend with the scariest stocks is now up.
