Sharpen Your Skills, Become a Better Investor

If Your Goal is Compounding Your Money
Know What You Own

2020 has been a difficult year for investors. Now more than ever, you really need to know what you own.

If you invest in mutual funds or ETFs, you could own hundreds or even thousands of stocks.

Diversity is a strategy for people who don’t know what they’re doing. Focus your time, energy and money on top stocks. Try to get your portfolio back to even.

Hi, Im David Sharek. And I learned stocks the hard way. During the 1990’s stocks were doing great. But I was losing money.

I tried trading, buying low, following broker stock tips. Still, my portfolio was a mess. Meanwhile, many stocks were compounding in value, and leaving me behind.

In 1999 I had enough. I quit my day job and became a stockbroker. But they didn’t teach me about stocks either.

David SharekSo I studied the stock market. I read classic books, subscribed to magazines and newspapers. I absorbed information like a sponge. I even ordered annual reports from leading stocks of decades past. I wanted to learn what makes great stocks tick higher.

Eventually, I was able to spot the traits great stocks possessed. Here’s what I learned:

History Repeats Itself in the Stock Market

From Walmart (WMT), to Home Depot (HD), Microsoft (MSFT) and Apple (AAPL), these great stocks you see here all had a similar set of characteristics. The biggest trait they had was rapid profit growth.

Hover your mouse over each of these classic companies to view a ten-year chart of each stock during the glory days. Notice profits (EPS) went up exponentially.
