It is now clear that if we are to profit in the market, then we must profit from stocks that profit from a weakening economy. I believe the words within this letter hold the keys to our success in 2009. The one thing we can depend on right now is things are bad — now that this is clear, we can adjust, and profit from the economy’s pain.
Our leaders from 2009 will come from healthcare and education. People require healthcare and prescription drugs in any environment, so medical devices and medical services will serve as our backbone during the new administration.
Rising unemployment is pushing more Americans (and Chinese) to go back to school and better their education. Senior students are staying one-more-term as Freshman enter the college landscape. These trends mean bigger classrooms and increased profits for education companies.
2009 will be remembered as a year of change, and now it is time for us to change, and prosper once again.
