Wall Street Rebounds as Chip Stocks Fuel Market Gains

The stock market rallied on Tuesday, snapping a three-day losing streak as a strong rebound in semiconductor stocks boosted investor sentiment ahead of key AI and technology earnings reports.

Investors are now turning their attention to earnings from Alphabet (GOOGL) and Tesla (TSLA), as well as the upcoming Federal Reserve policy meeting, both of which could influence market direction.

Overall, S&P 500 rose 0.9% to 7,509, while Nasdaq increased 1.3% to 25,837.

Chart of the Day

Here is the one-year chart of Oracle (ORCL) as of June 15, 2026, when the stock was at $193.

Oracle stock is down in the dumps as investors question the company’s AI aspirations. The issue is the company is issuing loads of debt to build out AI infrastructure while depending on future revenue. And that revenue is expected to be very large, with Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO) of $638 billion last quarter, up 363% year-over-year.

To put that into perspective, Oracle just ended its Fiscal Year on May 31 with $67 billion in revenue. It plans roughly $70 billion of net capital spending in what is now its Fiscal 2027 as it rapidly expands data center capacity across multiple gigawatt-scale sites.
