Stocks Jump After Venezuelan President’s Capture

The stock market closed higher on Monday after the U.S. military captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro over the weekend. Maduro had been charged with drug trafficking during the first Trump administration.

Investors hoped that the development would not escalate into broader geopolitical tensions that could weigh on markets.

Overall, S&P 500 rose 0.6% to 6,902, while NASDAQ gained 0.7% to 23,396.

Here is the one-year chart of Arm (ARM) as of December 19, 2025, when the stock was at $114.

Arm (ARM), the industry leader in building CPUs, is a key player in AI datacenter production. In fact, when NVIDIA (NVDA) releases info on its new NVIDIA GB200 NVL 72 rack system, it mentions the ARM CPU. In the rack, 72 NVIDIA GPUs are used with 36 ARM CPUs.

In last quarter’s earnings call, Arm’s CEO said in respect with all the new AI deals, all the incremental computer that has been announced has been all based on Arm.

But how much is datacenter revenue compared to total revenue? I don’t know.

Datacenter royalties doubled last quarter, but management did not break down the sales figure. The biggest growth contributor to Royalty revenue last quarter was smartphones.

ARM is on the radar for our Growth Portfolio.
