Stocks Slip as Rising Treasury Yields Pressure Markets

The stock market edged lower on Tuesday as rising long-term Treasury yields weighed on investor sentiment.

The 10-year Treasury yield climbed to around 5.29%, its highest level since 2007, while the 30-year yield rose to 5.62%, its highest since 2002.

Investors were also closely watching oil prices, inflation data, and the possibility of further interest-rate hikes from the Federal Reserve.

Overall, S&P 500 slid 0.2% to 7,671, while Nasdaq declined 0.1% to 26,798.
