Sharek’s Take
David SharekBody Central (BODY) missed with their style selection this Spring. Profits could come in light this quarter and next, and that’s taken the air out of these shares. Today I’ll sell BODY from the Aggressive Growth Portfolio because the stock isn’t as timely as it was last quarter (and partly because I think the market is overdue for a correction and I’m trying to build some cash).

News isn’t all bad thought, the company runs through inventory quick and should be good-to-go later in the year, so I’ll keep this stock in my Growth Portfolio. I like the long-term appeal this stock has and think it will be a multi-year winner.
One-Year Chart
BODY was making good progress before the company lowered estimates. The little dip you see at the right side of the chart is what happened after earnings were announced. I think that took momentum away.

Estimates show 6% and 12% growth coming the next two quarters. Since BODY only beat by a penny last quarter, we could see 10% growth for the next six months. Ugh.
Earnings Table
Body Central’s profits grew 52% last quarter on a 20% rise in sales. Sales were up 18% 2QtrsAgo.

BODY only beat the street by a penny, which makes me thing the company won’t beat by much (if at all) this quarter.

Annual Profit Estimates stayed around the same as last quarter.

Quarterly estimates show slow growth the next two quarters and then growth should pick up nicely.
Fair Value
I’m taking BODY’s Fair Value down from 25 times earnings to 20.
Ten-Year Chart
Body Central’s ten-year chart is good but not great. The stock was undervalued during the stock market crisis of mid-to-late 2011. Profit growth was 51% last year and is expected to slow to 22% this year.
Power Ranking Bottom Line
Growth Portfolio

10 of 19

Body Central has to get its inventory straight before I can be giddy about the stock again. Inventory issues are bad news and can linger.

Body Central takes a dive in my Power Rankings. BODY is now 10th of 19 stocks in the Growth Portfolio rankings and will be sold altogether from Aggressive Growth Portfolio.
