Sky’s The Limit

It’s a strange time to be investing in stocks. Low interest rates have pushed lots of money into the stock market. And with nothing scaring people to sell (i.e. political unrest) some stocks have gone sky high.

The problem I’m having is I’ve been selling good stocks when they are high only to see them keep going higher. MasterCard is a good example. Conversely the stocks I don’t own and wish to buy are also too expensive right now.

Fortunately, our change to climb aboard might be coming up soon. First, the stock market has historically made 90% of its gains between November and April, hence the term “sell in May and go away” was coined. With Summer set to be a back-and-forth period I may get better opportunities to buy. Second, the stock market just went into a correction this week. That could cause selling pressure with some of these high-flyers, and give us the opportunity we need to add quality stocks.
