China and Solar Stocks Continue to Soar

Last month I bought two stocks in the Growth Portfolio (see page 2). Both were Chinese companies, one was a solar stock.

Although Chinese stocks and solar energy stocks have been hot for the last year, I see them doing well going into 2008. P/Es are still relatively low, profit growth is high, and many companies keep beating the street.

Our technology companies are also poised for another strong year. Google (GOOG), Research in Motion (RIMM), Apple (AAPL), and Priceline (PCLN) continue to fit the mold, but a recession could derail PCLN and Focus Media (FMCN) because spending could slow in the travel and advertising sectors.

Overall, I think 2008 will be a mirror image of 2007.
